Vitality ultrasound

This ultrasound is reimbursed by many health insurers. If this is not the case for you, your midwife may have referred you to have an early ultrasound scan early in your pregnancy, for example because you have previously had a miscarriage or have no idea how long you have been pregnant. During a vitality ultrasound we check whether the pregnancy is in the womb, whether it is a singleton or multiples and whether the heart is beating. We also check whether the uterus and ovaries look normal.
It is possible to make this ultrasound from 6 weeks. However, our advice is to do this from 7 weeks onwards because we can then provide more clarity about the vitality of the pregnancy. There should preferably be at least 17 days between the first positive pregnancy test and the ultrasound
Everyone has a vaginal ultrasound before 10 weeks of pregnancy. So no ultrasound through the abdomen. A vaginal ultrasound is not painful and not harmful to the pregnancy. A vaginal ultrasound gives a much better picture and the nice thing about it is that you can see your baby better.

It is useful to know that your bladder must be empty during a vaginal ultrasound.

Een vitaliteitsecho wordt maar een keer door de zorgverzekeraar vergoed. Mocht je vaker een echo willen laten maken voor de 10 weken noemen we dit een echo eigen wens, de kosten hiervoor zijn 50,37 euro

For 3.50 euros, the sonographer will take separate photos and images for you, which you will receive via your phone.
